My Blog

Start of another semester, hopefully all goes well.

Been a while since the last post, not that anyone really reads this.

Got a lot of stuff to do, truck is neering completion, and life is starting to come together.

Three weeks into college, so far so good.

Well, it's three weeks into college, class is going pretty good. I've been preoccupied with college, homework, etc.
Expect an update on the Wi-Fi Truck sometime soon.

First day of the semester.

Well, today is the first day of the new semester, and i have to run off to class already, fun fun fun.

College is finaly done, now to finish my projects.

Well, i'm done with college for now, at least untill Jan 17th-ish.
Hopefully between blowing out the driveway, running around schedualing classes for next semester, sleeping, and getting the server of doom working, I can start in on the engine swap, Wi-Fi Truck, and etc.

Life never ceases to find things for me to do...

Inline 5 Motor Swap

Well, it's come to the point where i'm sick and tired of trying to get the damn thing running properly, it's got injection pump issues :cringe:, so i'm getting an om617 inline 5 Daimler-Benz out of a Mercedes sedan sometime in this coming week.

More after the break.

System interconnect diagram found at last!

I finally found my system interconnect diagram i scanned in many moons ago.
Image after the break.

New steering servo on the way!

My friend Frank recently ordered me a new servo to replace the proprietary funky one that inhabited the steering gearbox on the truck.
Read on for a ful explanation.

New battery pack and code migration

I've started working on the Wi-Fi Truck's software again recently, and have also acquired another NiMH battery pack rated at 12V 3.5Ah, an improvement over the 2.3Ah pack i was using previously.

I also migrated from PSoC Designer 4.4 to PSoC Designer 5 earlier this week, and must say 5 is better laid out and more intuitive than 4.4 was.

I have also set up a Subversion repository of the project code, which I will be releasing under the GPL once I inquire about the legalities of including Cypress sub-licensed code in the repository.

For now, you can view the project code here.

Psoc Designer 5, available free from Cypress Semiconductor at the following URL, is required to view the project configurations and the chip layout, whereas the C source files are viewable with any text editor.

Expect more updates as time progresses.

New page detailing the Wi-Fi truck project.

I finaly got round to writing up a semi-worthy report on my personal "never ending project".
You can check it out in the electronics section, or be lazy and click here to be whisked away by a thousand trillion magic electrons to the land of transistor.

Power is back.

Power came back sometime between 2:00 and 3:00 am while i was asleep, still no word on what caused the outage.
